課程概述 |
Course Description:
"Management"
This is a course which will give you a new perspective and a unique way of learning on "management"!
Management is a “science” supported by facts and figures, and it is also an “art” dependent on personal perspectives and views. Even though management theories have evolved over times, the management practices require skills and techniques that could be acquired from education, training, and experience.
This course aims to introduce the fundamental concepts of management and essential managerial functions of modern organizations in the global marketplace.
Students will benefit from the instructor's extensive management experiences and insights which would give students a deeper understanding of realistic management practices.
Six guest speakers from various industries will be invited to share their management experiences and insights.
*All students who are interested in contemporary management topics are welcome. International students are welcome to join this course to bring in valuable international perspectives on the management topics.
**Students who are interested in this course could not register online in the open registration periods, please come to the first class on Sep. 13 to get approval and authorization code from Dr. Hsieh you can still add this course. You may also correspond with him by email (dr.edhsieh@gmail.com) before the first class to secure an opening for this course and he will send the code for you to add this course. Please find the reply in your school email address. |

In this course, students will learn important subjects on Management through lectures, discussions, group study, quiz, and case study presentations.
On completion of this course a student should be able to:
1.Understand the concept of management
2.Acquire knowledge of various management strategies and techniques
3.Understand the role of organization management to maintain competitiveness in the global marketplace

Students of all levels, with or without management experience are welcome to take this course, as long as students are committed to fulfill the following requirements:
1.attending and participating in class discussions and pop quizzes
2.studying the text book and assigned materials
3.researching online, conducting business survey
4.involved in group study and group presentations
5.taking mid-term and final exams |
